About the Hub

Kansas’s coordinated approach to identifying best practices from across the nation for maximizing Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) opportunities.

Formed in 2022, the Kansas Infrastructure Hub (Hub) connects multiple state agencies to serve as a resource center for Kansan communities.

The Hub will reach out to the private sector, as well as federal and local agencies, to develop partnerships and seek grant funds to strengthen Kansas infrastructure. The Hub is not a governing body.

The Hub Steering Committee includes representatives from the Kansas Departments of Administration (Cybersecurity), Commerce (Broadband), Agriculture (Water), Health and Environment (Water), Transportation, the Kansas Corporation Commission (Energy), Emergency Management (Resiliency), and the Kansas Water Office.

What does the Hub do?

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

The Hub offers free technical assistance (e.g., grants capacity development and grants management support, such as research and application coaching) to entities applying for BIL grants.

COLLABORATION

The Hub facilitates partnerships that allow Kansans to pursue BIL grant opportunities that will strengthen statewide infrastructure.

GRANT TRACKING

The Hub promotes BIL grant opportunities, monitors BIL funding allocation, and serves as the processing and clearinghouse for the Build Kansas Fund.

The Build Kansas Fund

The Build Kansas Fund can provide up to $200M to Kansas communities applying for grants with a match requirement under BIL, also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA).
